Lord Mayor Graham Quirk announces Tennis Gear as Operator of Roy Emerson Tennis Centre


The Lord Mayor Graham Quirk has officially named Tennis Gear as operator and the appointed manager of the soon to be opened Roy Emerson Tennis Centre at Frew Park Milton.  During a special media launch held at Frew Park last Tuesday, the Lord Mayor spoke about the development progress, the facilities available and the range of activities that will available to the public courtesy of Tennis Gear.

Tennis Gear are a specialist tennis facility manager and operator of tennis centres at Shaw Park, Morningside and Everton Park.   Mark Bloomfield from Tennis Gear said “the centre will be open 7 days per week and provide a range of professional tennis programs for players of all standards plus provide the ability for the community to hire the courts on a casual basis.  We are extremely excited about being appointed as operator of the Roy Emerson Tennis Centre because it combines 100 years of history with a new state of the art tennis facility.  Courtesy of the foresight of the Brisbane City Council, the local residents and tennis community will have a community asset that will serve them for many decades to come.”

It is expected that the park and tennis centre will be open for public access and use around the end of November.
