We are now well into week 2 of term and our coaching programs are off to a flying start. We would like to thank you for your co-operation and patience throughout this transition period to the Emerson Tennis Centre. Please see below some important information and reminders.
Morning Lessons
Players are dropped off at the Emerson Tennis Centre for their 7.45am lesson. The coaches will walk the players back to school once the lesson is finished at 8.30am.
Afternoon Lessons
Players are to wait outside the office, on the stairs, straight after school. The coaches will be waiting for them and will mark a roll before departing the school.
If your child is not attending tennis on their scheduled day please call the centre on 3367 8585 to let us know so that the coaches are aware.
Reminder that players are NOT to walk across to the tennis centre alone. For safety reasons they need to meet the coach outside the office, get their name marked off the roll and then walk across with the rest of the group.
If you are going to be walking your child across to the centre each week yourself please call the centre on 3367 8585 and let us know. We will then remove their name from the ‘picked up from school’ roll.
Players are then picked up at the Emerson Tennis Centre at 4.15pm once their lesson is complete.
After School Care
A coach is available to walk players back to school each afternoon if they attend After School Care. If you would like your child walked back to school please call the centre on 3367 8585 and let us know if you have not done so already.
Lesson Types & Advancing
We run 3 different Hot Shots Coaching Lessons throughout the week:
Red Ball (ages 5-8years)
Orange Ball (ages 7-10 years)
Orange Ball (ages 7-10 years)
Green Ball (ages 9+)
The age brackets above are just a rough guide to begin with. When we are determining which level a player needs to be we take into account the players age and their level. There is no set date/time in which a player must advance to the next stage, this is all dependant on ability. Our coaches know each player and keep an eye on the levels for each class. When a player is ready to advance we will be in contact to discuss options. If you would like to know more about the levels please don’t hesitate to get in contact and we can discuss.
